Keep Your Staff and Visitors Safe with Appropriate Hazard Warning Signs

Every workplace will have its hazards. These include electrical hazards, vehicles operating, flammable substances, chemicals, construction site risks and simple trips and slip hazards.  Having the right warning signs in place will protect your staff and the public, whilst ensuring you comply with Health and Safety Guidance on hazard signage.

Why are Warning Signs so Crucial in the Workplace?

Ensuring any risks are clearly signposted will reduce the risk of accidents, alerting staff and the public to potential threats to their safety. Employers have a legal duty of care to display sufficient safety warning signs and minimise the risk of injuries.  If you fail to display the appropriate workplace warning signs, you could face legal action.

Choosing the Right Signs for your Workplace

Every workplace is different. It is important to carry out a full risk assessment of your premises and to check Health and Safety guidelines to ensure you have the right warning signs and safety notices in place.

Types of Warning Signs

Our range of warning signs covers a vast array of hazards and is compliant with current Health and Safety legislation.  We offer a wide selection including Electrical Safety Signs, Construction Site Safety Signs, Flammable and Trip and Slip Hazard Signs. Many of our signs can be customised with your logo.

We offer signs suitable for long-term use, as well as those alerting people to temporary risks, such as our collapsible slippery surface signs.

Where to Position Warning Signs

Where you need to position your warning signs, will be determined by the location of the hazard and how people might approach it.  The sign should be placed close enough to alert people to the hazard, but not so close that they do not see it in time.  For example, a sign marking an uneven surface or hidden step should be displayed just as people get close to the hazardous area.

Warning signs that highlight the presence of hazardous materials such as asbestos should be positioned at as people enter the area of risk.  Every warning sign should be clearly visible. Signs that have been used outdoors may have faded over time and will need replacing.
